Dr. Kavita Vani is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal–Fetal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, where she also serves as Director of Fourth Trimester and Postpartum Services. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal–Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Vani’s clinical and research interests focus on improving outcomes for individuals with high-risk pregnancies through innovative models of postpartum and transitional care. She leads initiatives aimed at integrating multidisciplinary care, community health worker engagement, and health systems innovation to address gaps in access, continuity, and quality of care for medically and socially complex populations.
Her scholarship and leadership are centered on advancing health equity, with a particular emphasis on the fourth trimester. She is actively engaged in implementation science and quality improvement efforts to optimize maternal health outcomes and reduce disparities in underserved communities.
