Joan Marie Mastrobattista, MD is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she serves in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completed residency training at New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Mastrobattista’s clinical and academic work focuses on prenatal ultrasound, fetal diagnosis, and the management of complex medical conditions during pregnancy. She has led numerous initiatives to advance ultrasound quality and education, including the development of a comprehensive ultrasound bootcamp for Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellows. She currently serves as Ultrasound Clinic Chief at Texas Children’s Hospital and directs the Ultrasound Quality Program within her department. In addition to her clinical leadership, she contributes to simulation-based training for medical students and remains actively engaged in multidisciplinary education.
