Lamiya Ahmed is a Manager of Public Health Initiatives at Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. In this role, she leads SMFM activities on the topics of infectious diseases, immunization, and emerging threats. She also supports SMFM work on hypertension in pregnancy and postpartum. She is interested in the intersectional space of maternal and child health, social justice and health equity. Lamiya is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Community Health Science and Practice at New York University. In her free time, she enjoys taking Pure Barre classes, creating mehendi designs, and spending quality time with her spouse and two cats.
