Emily Gleason is a first-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Society. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and Latin American studies. Prior to medical school, she conducted research on maternal healthcare systems for displaced Indigenous women in Medellín, Colombia as a Fulbright scholar and served as an AmeriCorps member at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Her research interests center on advancing equitable and accessible maternal health care.
