Dr. Catherine Windrim is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellow at the University of Toronto, where her research focuses on virtual reality simulation for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome surgery and the use of placental growth factor (PlGF) in periviable fetal growth restriction. She completed her medical degree at University College Dublin and holds membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with clinical experience across major Irish maternity units including the Rotunda, the National Maternity Hospital, and Cork University Maternity Hospital. She has also completed executive education in healthcare leadership at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
Dr. Windrim has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications spanning fetal medicine, surgical simulation, and obstetric complications. Her work on VR simulation for fetoscopic laser techniques was recognized with the William C. Carr Award at the 2025 American Irish Medical Summit, and she has received multiple presentation awards including Top Scoring Poster at the RCOG World Congress.
