Amanda DeGraaf, M.S., is a second-year medical student at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia. She conducts research under the direction of Megan Whitham, M.D., in the Carilion Clinic Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, focusing on the use of ultrafast power Doppler imaging to assess placental microvasculature in pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction. This work is conducted in collaboration with Virginia Tech’s Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prior to medical school, she worked as a clinical research coordinator in the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center at Massachusetts General Hospital and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
