Christine Field, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The Ohio State University. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Field later became a lifelong Tar Heel while completing her undergraduate, medical education, Master of Public Health, and OB/GYN residency at University of North Carolina. She was then thrilled to join the Buckeye family while completing Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship and subsequently joining faculty at The Ohio State University. Dr. Field’s clinical and research interests include individual- and neighborhood-level social determinants of health, diabetes in pregnancy, peripartum cardiometabolic health, and utilization of pregnancy as a window for future health and for engagement in preventative care. She is a co-investigator for NIH’s ECHO prospective cohort examining birthparent cardiometabolic health and long-term child health and development and the site PI for PCORI’s DECIDE comparative effectiveness trial of metformin versus insulin for the treatment of gestational diabetes. Clinically, she has joined the Diabetes in Pregnancy Program at OSU which provides integrated diabetes and prenatal care to >800 pregnant people each year with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes.
