Dr. Sarah Detlefs is a Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Detlefs was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended medical school at University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tuscon, residency at University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix, and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She was introduced to medical simulation in 2008 and completed her Master of Science in Medical Simulation from Drexel University during Fellowship. Her interests include medical simulation, teamwork and communication training, maternal anemia, and management of hematologic and substance use disorders in pregnancy. She is the Medical Director of Simulation for Texas Children's Hospital Pavilion for Women and the Chair of the Perinatal Guidelines Committee for Baylor OB/Gyn.
