Maya Patel, a fourth-year medical student at UNC School of Medicine, has participated in maternal–fetal medicine research with her mentor, Dr. Kim Boggess, since her first year of medical school. She is applying to Internal Medicine residency with interests in primary care and cardio-obstetrics, aiming to care for underserved communities through longitudinal, relationship-centered care.
