Medical College of Wisconsin
Smrithi Chanjeevaram, MS, is a second-year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin with a strong interest in Maternal–Fetal Medicine and advancing health equity in obstetrics. As a first-generation medical student, her academic and advocacy work focus on improving care for underserved and immigrant populations, particularly South Asian women, through culturally responsive and community-informed approaches to healthcare.
Her current research explores gestational diabetes in immigrant populations, with attention to cultural dietary practices, barriers to care, and maternal–fetal outcomes. She is especially interested in the intersection of global health, clinician education, and women’s health, and she hopes to pursue a career in OB/GYN focused on high-risk pregnancy and reducing disparities in maternal outcomes.
