Assistant Professor
Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine
I am a Maternal–Fetal Medicine specialist and Director of Research for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carilion Clinic, and Assistant Professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. My research focuses on advancing ultrasound diagnostic and implementation strategies to improve maternal and fetal outcomes.
At Virginia Tech-Carilion, I lead the Women’s Implementation Collaborative (WIC), a multidisciplinary team driving system-level improvements in obstetric care, including postpartum hemorrhage management, iron deficiency anemia reduction, and addressing postpartum readiness. My lab's current research centers on the development of quantitative ultrasound and ultrafast Doppler imaging frameworkds to detect placental insufficiency and fetal growth restriction through physiologic, microvascular assessment.
My overarching vision is to bridge clinical insight, engineering innovation, and implementation science to transform perinatal care delivery and expand translational research capacity at Virginia Tech-Carilion.
