Dr. Melendez Torres, born and raised in Puerto Rico, completed his undergraduate studies in Neurobiology and Health Policy and Administration at The Pennsylvania State University, and obtained his medical degree from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the NYU Langone Health Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he served as the residency Chief for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Dr. Melendez Torres shares an interest in quality improvement, clinical obstetrics, placenta accreta spectrum and complex obstetric surgery, and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. He currently works at Duke University School of Medicine as a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
