This is a comprehensive session covering AIUM's ultrasound guidelines for Standard & Detailed Obstetric 1st, 2nd/3rd Trimester Imaging and Fetal Echocardiography. Whether you perform obstetric screening examinations, screening cardiac examinations or fetal echocardiography, it is important to understand the minimum requirements for imaging, documentation, and reporting. The importance of practice accreditation, training guidelines, image optimization and tips for submitting or renewing your application for AIUM accreditation will be presented. Practical suggestions for implementing and maintaining a quality assurance program in your busy ultrasound lab will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate the cardiac imaging components for standard and detailed obstetric examinations and fetal echocardiography examinations.
  • Explain the importance of practice accreditation and acquire tips for both completing a successful application and maintaining practice accreditation.
  • Recognize the importance of developing and implementing a quality assurance program and tools to successfully implement in everyday practice.
  • Discuss tips for image optimization and appropriate machine settings.
