This course is designed to bring together healthcare providers in maternal-fetal medicine and fetal cardiology interested in developing a robust knowledge base for prenatal detection of fetal cardiac disease and multi-disciplinary management of these patients. Didactic lectures and panel discussion with experts in multiple disciplines (MFM, fetal cardiology) will review published guidelines and provide attendees with an authoritative educational experience to enhance their clinical practice, improving prenatal detection of congenital heart disease and prenatal evaluation of cardiovascular physiology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the latest guidelines from obstetric and cardiac societies regarding prenatal ultrasound screening for congenital heart disease.
  • Improve technique in acquiring images to screen for common and complex congenital heart defects.
  • Understand the importance of imaging, genetic screening and diagnostic procedures beyond ultrasound that should be considered when congenital heart disease is suspected.
