Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellow
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist
Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States
I am a current first year Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellow at Wake Forest Univeristy, and I am so thrilled to be joining this community of physicians. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Morgantown, WV, and Chapel Hill, NC. I attended Oberlin College for my undergraduate studies where I studied Neuroscience and Biology and ran on the Division III Intercollegiate Track and Field team in the 100, 200, and 400 meter races. I then decided to pursue medicine and returned to Chapel Hill, NC and studied at the University of North Carolina. My love of surgery, time on labor and delivery, passion for reproductive rights, and interest in pregnant physiology ultimately led me to a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Addtionally, I had the opportunity in medical school to pursue a Master of Public Health between my third and fourth years of medical school. I wrote my Master’s Paper on my research regarding the Role of the Mexico City’s Policy of Maternal Morbidity and Mortality and examined our student lactation policy at UNC. I completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. My research interests are in OB Critical Care, Diabetes and Obesity, and examining Maternal Outcomes.
