Marcela Smid MD, MA, MS is a board certified Maternal Fetal Medicine, Addiction Medicine and Complex Family Planning physician at the University of Utah. She is the Director of Perinatal Addiction Services and the Medical Director of the Substance Use & Pregnancy – Recovery, Addiction, Dependence (SUPeRAD) specialty prenatal clinic. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Utah Maternal Mortality Review Committee. Her research focus is on perinatal addiction, care models for pregnant and postpartum people with substance use disorders, maternal mortality, maternal mental health and obstetric transport.
