I am a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where I also serve as Medical Director of The Birth Center and lead the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Simulation Curriculum. After completing my residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, I joined Wake Forest in 2011. Since graduation I have dedicated much of my career to improvements and innovations in medical ecucation.
I have led several stuides investigating novel and more efficient training methods for a variety of procedural skills, including vaginal deliveries and labor cervical exams, with my current research efforts focused on ultrasound guided invasive procedures. Along with a core group of collaborators, I have developed an innovative targeting curriculum and hands-on simulation workshops, which have trained numerous fellows and faculty across the United States and abroad.
I have served as a member of the SMFM Fellowship Affairs Committee from 2023-2025, and I will begin a 3-year term on the SMFM Practice Management Advisory Committee in 2026.
