Mishella Perez is a dedicated Clinical Ultrasound Educator at Scripps Health Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) in San Diego, specializing in high-risk obstetrics and fetal echocardiography. With two decades of experience, she has played pivotal roles as a clinical educator across the Departments of Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Mishella has been a key figure in educating and mentoring ultrasound students, sonographers, residents, fellows, and faculty.
Her commitment to advancing the MFM Sonography profession is evident through her active involvement in the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), where she currently chairs the Obstetrics Community of Practice, and other professional societies. Mishella also contributes to the Conference Subcommittee for the Fetal Heart Society and is a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS).
Passionate about education and the integration of advanced technologies, Mishella's interests include fetal echocardiography, detailed first-trimester imaging, and the role of AI in Obstetric medical imaging to enhance patient care and optimize prenatal screening. Her innovative approach continues to push the boundaries of ultrasound imaging, making a lasting impact on the field.
