Juliana Martins, MD is an Associate Professor of Maternal–Fetal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she directs the Ultrasound Unit and serves as Director of Surgical Obstetrics. She has extensive expertise in high-risk pregnancy care, fetal imaging, and complex surgical procedures including placenta accreta spectrum surgery, amniocentesis, CVS, and cordocentesis. Dr. Martins has authored over 30 book chapters on fetal anomalies and ultrasound diagnosis, contributed to national guidelines on fetal growth restriction and ultrasound protocols, and serves as a peer reviewer for leading journals in obstetrics and ultrasound.
She is also the director of the EVMS high-risk obstetrics simulation curriculum, training residents and fellows in obstetric emergencies and surgical skills. Her research interests include maternal hemodynamics, point-of-care ultrasound, and predictive modeling of adverse pregnancy outcomes, supported by multiple research grants. Passionate about advancing education, Dr. Martins is a frequent invited speaker at national conferences, where she shares her expertise on ultrasound and high-risk obstetrics.
