Christine Blauvelt, MD is an assistant professor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her residency and fellowship training at UCSF and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Global Health at Princeton University.
Her clinical interests include diabetes and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, focusing on better blood pressure monitoring during pregnancy and reducing the long-term risk of cardiovascular disease. Her research focuses on how infections during pregnancy affect the placenta and contribute to complications, such as fetal growth restriction, preeclampsia and preterm birth.
