Arya Babul is Founder, President and CEO of the Society for Awareness of Neglected Diseases (SAND) and a student at West Career & Technical Academy (West Tech).
SAND is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Las Vegas, Nevada with a mission to raise awareness of neglected topical diseases (NTDs) among aspiring healthcare professionals so that they may become more effective advocates for high quality health care delivery, research, collaboration and funding for NTDs upon completion of their education. SAND also provides secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in the health sciences with the opportunity to generate global awareness and critical debate in Neglected Tropical Diseases.

West Tech is a magnet high school administered by the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada.
