Dr. Martha Tesfalul is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Her clinical and research interests are in the care of patients with diabetes, preeclampsia, elevated preterm birth risk, and sickle cell disease. She serves as the Physician Lead of Alameda Health System's Beloved Black Birth Centering, which is an innovative, community-engaged group prenatal care initiative focused on improving outcomes for Black mothers and babies in the East Bay safety net system. She is currently serving as the Chair of the SMFM Global Health Committee and actively involved in the Foundation of SMFM's Quilligan Scholars Program.
