Maciel Duverge is a second-year medical student at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, College of Medicine (CDU COM). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology with a minor in Gender Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Duverge was selected as a Stanford REACH-HBMC Research Scholar, where her research focuses on health disparities and adverse perinatal outcomes through the study of antepartum anemia trends during pregnancy. She is committed to fostering a medical environment grounded in empathy and intersectionality to advance equitable and accessible medical care for marginalized communities, particularly within women’s health.
This commitment is reflected within her leadership roles as President of the OB/GYN Interest Group and Vice President and Project Lead of the Women’s Health Division at the CDU Student-Run Health Outreach. She looks forward to developing the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional care for her future patients.
