Dr. Veronica Maria Pimentel, MD, MS, FACOG is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, known for her commitment to advancing maternal health through clinical care, research, and education. She serves as the Research Director for the OB/GYN Residency Program, where she has mentored numerous residents and medical students, helping many become published authors and contributors to the field.
Her research has earned multiple honors, including the Hartford County Medical Association Research Award and recognition as a 2025 Women of Innovation Award finalist. Dr. Pimentel holds leadership roles in key professional organizations such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the Connecticut Chapter of the National Medical Association. She is a founding board member of the Cabo Verdean-American Medical Society (CVAMS).
Dr. Pimentel earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, completed her OB/GYN residency at Boston University Medical Center, and received fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her work continues to shape the future of maternal health by combining clinical care, advocacy, research, and education.
