Emily Modlin is a third-year medical student at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. She grew up in Northern California, but moved across the country to earn a BA in Public Health from Davidson College in 2020. She then spent three years working at the Center for Precision Health Research at the NIH on the Genomic Services Research Program, a mixed-methods research program that aims to describe health and health behavior outcomes of genomic secondary findings receipients. She is pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynecology, with a particular interest in family planning and disease prevention for urban underserved populations, including those with justice system involvement. She enjoys spending her free time by the ocean and with her family, including her two kittens.
