Sequoia Finney, CCRC, is a Research Project Manager in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Center for Obstetrics Research and Innovation (CORI) at the Wake Forest School of Medicine, Charlotte Campus. She is committed to advancing maternal health by leading studies that unite operational excellence with meaningful clinical research. A Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Mrs. Finney holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Clinical Research.
She brings expertise in maternal-fetal health research and process improvement, guiding initiatives that enhance data integration, optimizing research workflows, and translating findings into evidence-based care. Her research leadership spans a diverse portfolio, including a pilot randomized controlled trial evaluating the Mediterranean Diet during pregnancy and an observational study examining cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, both accepted for upcoming poster presentations. She also oversees ongoing biomarker research in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and a multi-site evaluation of a community doula program. Mrs. Finney leverages her expertise in project coordination and regulatory oversight to advance maternal health research through technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a vision of transforming clinical care and research practices so that every mother and baby can begin their journey in optimal health.
