Uma Gaffney, BA, is a second year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She participated in the Dean's Summer Research Project at the Megli Lab at the Magee-Women's Research Institute. She is a coordinator of the Medical Student Pride Alliance at Pitt, and is co-enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Bioethics through the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Bioethics. She formerly worked as a Staff Research Associate at the Gould Lab at UCSF. She graduated from Smith College with a BA in chemistry with high honors in 2020.
