Gary Kersbergen, MD is a second-year resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Christiana Care Health Services. He attended the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College for Medical School where he was awarded the ACOG Future Leader Award. His research interests include patient safety and quality improvement, substance use disorder in pregnancy, management of early unlocated pregnancy, and simulation in medical education and training. He is passionate about medical student education and was awarded the Lamar Ekbaldh Medical Student Teaching Award on behalf of Christiana Care for his dedication to medical student education. He serves on the Residency and Fellow Council at Christiana Care and serves as the Wellness Representative and Graduate Medical Education Committee representative on the executive board. He is a certified peer support counselor through the “Care for the Caregiver” program. In his personal life, he is a competitive long-distance runner.
