Post-doctoral Research Fellow
Wright State University
My name is Courtney Johnson-Gonzalez M.D. and I am a current Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I was raised in rural Indiana and earned my B.S. in Biology and Certificate of Biotechnology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 2018. I pursued a career in hematology research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital where I found an interest in clinical medicine and patient care and subsequently applied to medical school.
I attended Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and joined the lab of Thomas Brown Ph.D. My research project focused on the pathophysiology of preeclampsia. I earned my M.D. from Wright State University in May 2025 and will be applying to OB/GYN residency this year. My research interests include hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, IUGR, and maternal mortality.
