Metabel Markwei, MD, MSc is a fourth-year OB/GYN resident at Stanford Health Care and incoming Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard. Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, she is passionate about advancing global women’s health and addressing maternal health inequities. She studied medical anthropology and global health at Yale University, earned a master’s in reproductive medicine from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed her medical degree at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. As an SMFM Resident Scholar, she looks forward to the meeting each year for the inspiration and community that sustain her “why” for MFM.
