LaKeisha C. Majette, MD is an Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in 2022, following a Master’s Certificate in Advanced Biomedical Sciences from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before beginning her OB/GYN residency, Dr. Majette completed a preliminary year in General Surgery at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC (2022–2023).
Dr. Majette’s research interests focus on reducing health disparities in women’s health. She has investigated hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and examined the impact of social determinants on maternal healthcare outcomes. Beyond research, she has supported low-income families by providing clothing and essential supplies during the transition to parenthood. Committed to leadership and advocacy, Dr. Majette actively pursues opportunities to grow as a leader in healthcare. She recently earned a Healthcare Leadership Certificate through the NC Medical Society’s Advanced Healthcare Leadership Program, further equipping her to drive meaningful change in women’s health. Outside of medicine, she enjoys weight lifting, endurance events, creating adventures, and spending quality time with family—all while continuing to mentor and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
