I am a third year resident physician at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. I have a background in prehospital medicine as I practiced as a paramedic for 6 years prior to my medical education. My research focuses on evaluation, implementation, and improvement of maternal outcomes from pre-hospital care through postpartum with focus on management of obstetric emegencies and post-partum hemorrhage. At Virginia Tech Carilion, I am a part of the Womens quaImplementation Collaborative, a multdisciplinary team which drives system-level changes to improve postpartum hemorrhage respnse, management, and outcomes. I also am a part of the Carilion Clinic Massive Transufsion Committee, evaluating large volume blood consumption in the obstetric population. I am also a part of Carilion Clinics Medivac, LifeGuard protocol committe and education to advance obstetric related protocols and care for critically ill pregnant patients. I also volunteer within my community as the primary educator for pre-hospital obstetric care for fire departments and first responders in the southwest virginia area . My career goals involve becoming a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist where I can care for complex obstetric patients and advance rural care and maternal and fetal outcomes in both the pre-hospital and in-hospital settings.
