Shivani Manikandan is a second year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She recieved her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Iowa. She has a strong interest in fetal medicine and embryological development of critical organ systems such as the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems. Throughout her undergraduate career, she has been involved in tranlational research in the field of biochemistry with a specific interest on nanoparticle based therapies. She hopes to continue pursuing translational research throughout her future medical career. In her free time, she enjoys climbing, origami, and cooking.
