Dr. Lipkind is the Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine. A board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist and strong clinician-researcher, she has an extensive record of federal funding and is nationally recognized for her work in women’s health, perinatal epidemiology, and outcome measures. Her research spans medical comorbidities in women, digital hypertension management, and postpartum cardiovascular care. Dr. Lipkind is an expert in community based participatory research and health services research and cardiovascular disease prevention and health disparities. Dr. Lipkind collaborates on several studies focusing on maternal and infant birth outcomes, including vaccine safety studies with two recent CDC awards examining receipt of vaccines for maternal and infant outcomes. Dr. Lipkind is a Dual-PI of the PCORI-funded comparative effectiveness study addressing disparities in postpartum hypertension entitled, Community-Based, Family-Centered, Trauma-Informed Approach to Timely Detection and Management of Early Postpartum Hypertension in response to the PCORI PFA Improving Postpartum Maternal Outcomes for Populations Experiencing Disparities. She is also a Subject Matter Expert for PCORI’s congressionally mandated research area Maternal morbidity and mortality (MMM) Research workgroup. To address the maternal health crisis, Dr. Lipkind champions a comprehensive approach, ensuring transformative impact through coordinated efforts across diverse academic disciplines and content expertise.
