Eva Luo, MD, MBA, is the Head of OBGYN at Pomelo Care.
Dr. Luo has spent her career focused on the ways in which medicine and business can interact to accelerate innovation in women's health care.
In 2008, she graduated with honors in biochemical sciences from Harvard University. She completed her MBA at Harvard Business School in 2014, where she worked on several projects studying healthcare systems and healthcare delivery innovation with Professors Robert Kaplan and Clay Christensen. She earned her MD from the University of Michigan in 2015.
Before beginning her MD, she worked as a special assistant to Dr. Donald Berwick, the CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), focusing on national health reform and identifying innovative health systems that provide high-quality care at low costs. Eva also served a Global Impact Internship in rural Ghana as a Fellow of the William Davidson Institute in 2010, assessing the quality and effectiveness of a program that trained obstetricians for rural service in Ghana.
Prior to joining Pomelo, she served as Head of Clinical Innovation at Cityblock Health, a value-based primary care organization that serves over 100,000 Medicaid and Medicare dually eligible beneficiaries.
She completed her residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she continues to practice as an OB/GYN.
