Kai Holder, MD, MPH, is a PGY-2 Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh. She completed her MD and MPH at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she developed a strong foundation in public health–driven clinical research and advocacy. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of maternal-fetal medicine, equitable patient communication, and the social determinants of health, with a particular focus on improving obstetric care and outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Dr. Holder’s work emphasizes patient-centered counseling, health-equity–focused research, and the integration of public health principles into obstetric practice, with the goal of advancing more just and inclusive models of maternal care.
