Avish Arora, MD, PhD, is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellow at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. He completed his MD/PhD through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Montefiore.
Dr. Arora’s academic interests lie at the intersection of maternal medicine, cardiometabolic disease in pregnancy, and clinical innovation. His current work focuses on the development and evaluation of an agentic, AI-driven diabetes self-management assistant for patients with gestational diabetes, a project for which he independently led design, development, regulatory approval, and clinical deployment. He is actively recruiting patients for a prospective clinical trial evaluating real-world impact under physician oversight.
In addition to his research, Dr. Arora is actively involved in resident and medical student education, with teaching roles spanning diabetes in pregnancy, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, point-of-care ultrasound, and simulation-based obstetric training. His work has been presented nationally at SMFM and other scientific meetings.
