Christina A. Penfield, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Health and Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Penfield serves as the Co-Director of the NYU Cardio-Obstetrics Program and has a clinical and research focus on prevention and clinical management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and their long term cardiovascular sequelae. She has a diverse research skillset and has led studies in perinatal epidemiology of cesarean deliveries using large national datasets, developed and implemented of clinical algorithms, and led multiple randomized controlled and prospective trials. She has a NIH K08 Career Development Award to focusing on risk prediction and medical decision-making for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and is site principal investigator for a NIH-sponsored randomized controlled trial for bromocriptine in peripartum cardiomyopathy (REBIRTH), and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)-sponsored randomized clinical trial evaluating management of postpartum hypertension.
