During this portion of the forum, participants will engage in a variety of roundtable discussions. The purpose of the roundtable discussions is to identify actionable insights and priority areas from the perspective of MFMs that can inform and shape implementation strategies of The Diabetes Collaborative.

Roundtable Options:

Roundtable 1: The Unequal Weight of Diabetes in Pregnancy (Lead Megan Lawlor, MD)

Discuss methods to identify and track disparities in diabetes care in pregnancy. Can explore local and institutional gaps affecting and impacting all healthcare systems.
Roundtable 2: Beyond the Device (Lead Camille, Powe, MD)

Discuss challenges to equitable access of diabetes technology. Explore and share integrated strategies to overcoming barriers to implementing diabetes tech in maternal health.
Roundtable 3: Drivers of Disparities (Led by Nigel Madden, MD)

Identify care access, policy level gaps, provider knowledge and systems barriers underlying inequities and disparities in care. Consider actionable points to address these drivers at local, regional, state and national level.
Roundtable 4: Missed Opportunities: Managing Diabetes on Labor and Delivery and Postpartum (Lead: Suchitra Chandrasekaran, MD MSCE)

Discuss case based review for intrapartum DM care with an equity lens; identify models for retention and continuity in postpartum care.
Roundtable 5: Round Table 5: Awareness To Action (Lead: Amy Valent, DO MCR)

Identify shared goal, priorities and perspectives to guide the development and expansion of The Diabetes Collaborative.
